"send the breath out through the fingers and toes"? No. I have no lungs or trachea in my limbs. I have muscles I can wiggle and stretch, or — if that's too darn Western and literal — I can visualize wiggling and stretching...

Here's a bit from my blog:
I have been meditating for years but I have really dedicated myself to deeper practice recently and I was starting to get all proud of myself for navigating tricky relationship issues with compassion and empathy and being in the moment when BAM! Car door. Right to the forehead.

Anyway, I definitely have had some moments in yoga where not laughing or saying WTF became my first priorities. One meditation instructor used the image "imagine a lotus is blossoming from your ears, your nostrils, your navel, your personal area...it's opening now..." and I actually had to leave.

But I have an excuse. I'm from New Jersey.

Nice contents really. Buddha preached many sutras or methods to cater to the style of the audience he was dealing with. I'm sure if Buddha is around today, he would have made a badass version for some of us :)

Beautiful phrases doesn't make something seem more when it's lacking. And crude phrases doesn't mask the brilliance of a lesson too when it's truly awesome-inspiring.

Yes it is really tough but you know it makes sense. Difficult to commit to something when every part of one screams to be an individual - difficult for a determined free thinker to take a structured framework of thinking on board. But it works and it's true so what can you do?

Well, now, what about the ants in my kitchen???? Blasted things are everywhere, and yes, indeedy, I do take pleasure in getting rid of them!! I have to put my flax/seeds/nuts/fruits and veggies in a safe to keep those buggers out!

Well, he ate meat because thats what some people gave him as alms. So its never there for a monk to refuse what the lay people give so they have to accept it.

My thoughts for being veggie, is that well im a veggie too and i get this feeling that none of the beings are killed for my existence. It could be hard for most of the people, but I disagree for what weaselcat said, because ever since ive being a vegetarian Ive never been sick, maybe its just that you need to have done good deeds in this life or any earlier life...

What Doc says is true, the fish are already dead, but the more buyers = more killing, so buyers is the cause, killing is the effect. You know what im saying...

Take a better advantage of this life being a human, think how many other creatures are there excluding us... Only humans can think, only them who can know about their mind, only they are the ones who can learn about it and who can also strengthen the mind, and reach the supreme state of existence.

Dont waste your time on entertaining, because you dont even know when you will die. Be mindful, think about the present not the future or the past. Live with the five precepts that will grant you the environment to Meditate, and may you reach the end of samsara in this life.

During his youth, Siddharta excelled in school and lived the life of an exemplary prince. During Siddharta's adolescent years, his father was criticized for not educating his son in physical skills and military arts. Because of this criticism, a contest was arranged in which Siddharta competed with neighboring princes. Several descriptions of the details of the contest are recorded in various texts and in each, Siddharta emerges victorious. One of the most interesting contests was the archery competition in which Siddharta won by stringing a bow that no other contestant could string and shooting an arrow through seven trees to hit a target behind a tree and ultimately kill a boar on the far side of the target. Similar results occurred in all other events of the contest.

A key feature of the narrative is that the Buddha's cousin, Devadatta ("Servant of the God") is bested in all of these events and as a result becomes Siddharta's bitter nemesis.
